Co-Creation

Every month, we invite both members and non-members to a co-creation program, which serves both as a way of developing the elements of our network and of introducing others to the organization.

The evolution of the Forum is an open, public process. We invite leaders of sustainability organizations and initiatives to work with us, to become involved with the development of our programs, and “put their money where their mouth is” through our Program Investment Fund. (This Fund is a unique vehicle for seeding new initiatives through revolving loans, while preserving the individual contributor’s ownership and control over the use of their contribution. For more information, please read our description of the Fund, and/or attend one of our introductory sessions.)

The flagship program of the organization is a one-day course on Transformational Leadership for Sustainability, which is designed to help members:

  • Deepen our awareness of the challenges we face, the tools at our disposal, and the opportunities we have for both individual and collective action
  • Experience breakthroughs in power, understanding, leadership, and the expression of our shared vision of a sustainable future
  • Work with others to forge a new possibility for human beings and for sentient life on the plant
  • Assist each other in real-world challenges, opportunities, and initiatives, so as to seed the work of global transformation we see as needed everywhere on the planet
  • Commit to actions which will bring about significant, immediate, and scalable change.

Our Co-Creation Programs, which are open to everyone, present the opportunity and the promise of this organization, and serve to focus its content based on the emergence of new information, events, and interests. Each of our sessions applies core principles to the immediate challenges facing those attending, addressing emerging issues in science, business, and society, and seeks to refine a model of effective communication in order to facilitate the growth of community, of leadership, and of sustainable vision.

(Thomas A. Edison—thanks to Regan Caton)

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” (G.B. Shaw)

"There is the true joy of life: to be used by a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; to be thoroughly worn out before being thrown on the scrap heap; to be a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that life will not devote itself to making you happy." (G.B. Shaw)

"Leadership is a privilege to better the lives of others. It is not an opportunity to satisfy personal greed." (Mwai Kibaki, President of Kenya - thanks to Christine Comaford, Rules for Renegades)
